Silena reports on her adventures!
Hi Everyone!
As you all know I have been given the opportunity of becoming the Elders’ Coordinator for our community. I started in February, working with Willie. I sure have learned a lot with my new position. The elders and I have been fundraising like crazy since I started and even before, for the annual Elders’ Conference.
The conference took place in Salmon Arm, BC. There was a total of 20 elders from our community, myself, and four other escorts.
The elders would really like to thank those helpers once again for doing such a great job and making the trip that much better. Thank you again Carol, Billy, Dodie, and grandson (Dwayne).
We departed at 6:00am on Monday morning, July 12 by chartered bus. The conference started on Tuesday, July 13 to the 15. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed everyone’s company. We headed as far as Vancouver on Thursday, and arrived home Friday evening safely.
I really enjoyed spending the entire week with each and every one of you, and I look forward to many more adventures with all of you!
