There is a CCP Meeting TONIGHT (Sept. 13, Monday) at the Elders’ Centre, at 5pm. There are a few things on the agenda for this meeting:
- Our community needs to review the final CCP draft (complete with photographs, though it still needs some staff feedback) so that we can begin to use it as a guiding document.
- Johanna Mazur, one of the UBC students that was helping with the CCP, needs community approval of the project that she worked on, so that she can graduate.
- There are still disposable cameras belonging to the CCP that need to be used by community members to take pictures of our community so that I can do the final report on that grant.
- We also still have grant funding to build a smoke house, buy a small boat, and do some culture classes. I need some guidance from the community about how to get those things done within the next month or so.
Plus, it would be nice to see some familiar faces and just have a good visit! I hope you have lots of questions for me and I hope that we can have a fun meeting and get a lot done.
So, I hope to see many of you tonight. As always, if you have any questions about the CCP, this newsletter, or any of my work, email jessieh@gwanakplan.org or call 949-8343.

former Community Planning Coordinator
